This is our second year in New York, and we had a great time last year at our first conference.
We saw families, not just from Westchester County, but from Long Island,
Connecticut, New Jersey, upstate New York, and even Massachusetts.
Tarrytown, NY is an amazing central location and we are very happy to be returning to the DoubleTree Hotel,
which is literally only seconds off of I-287 right at the Tappan Zee Bridge (pictured in our conference graphic).

One major step we have taken to make this conference more accessible to local families is:

Although we love children, attendance is restricted to adults, teens accompanied by an adult, and nursing babies.

A, B, C, and Why: The Happiness of Homeschooling

10:30am Dr. Ray Guarendi
You’re a Better Parent Than You Think!
Anyone who works with children today is having his confidence, peace of mind, and authority undercut by widespread myths of “experts” and the media. Dr. Ray identifies several of the most pervasive of these myths, and helps moms and dads realize they are better parents and teachers than they might think.
11:30am Fr. Richard Gill
From Good Kids to Apostles: What’s at Stake for Families
The first instinct of any good parent is to form “good kids,” and that means insulating them from many of the toxic aspects of our current culture. Yet a Christianity lived merely in a defensive, protective mode is a misunderstanding of Christ’s mandate to go out to all the nations and contrary to the way the first Christians lived with the companionship of the Holy Spirit.

2:00pm Mrs. Virginia Seuffert
How Catholic Home Education is Changing American Culture

The Strength of Christ: The Role Model for the Catholic Father
Much of the breakdown in society today has been caused by men forgetting how to be…well, men. This presentation highlights an obvious truth: that the perfect man already exists in Christ. Jesus exhibited various forms of strength and homeschooling fathers can model their strength after the strength of Christ.
